Pet Portrait Commissions

To commission a pet portrait please read all of the information on this page carefully before completing the enquiry form at the bottom. You will receive a response within 48 hours (please check your junk folder if you have not received a reply). I require a non-refundable deposit of £50 per portrait, with the remaining balance due on completion, before delivery. Information on payment and an estimated timescale will be provided in my response to your enquiry. When you enquire please ensure you have your reference image(s) and deposit ready to send.

I accept a limited number of commissions at a time. If commissions are currently closed you can sign up to be the first to hear when they reopen.

Portrait Details

Medium: Graphite pencil
Sizes available: 6”x 8” / 9” x 12” / 11” x 14” / 12” x 16”
Supplied mounted (1” white mount), unframed.

My portraits are generally of the head / head & shoulders. Exceptions can be made if suitable. Upon receipt of your reference images I will advise on the composition and come to an agreement on this before confirming your booking. Please provide high quality, clear photographs where possible as this will affect the detail I am able to include in your portrait. Feel free to send more than one image if you are unsure of the best option.

Postage

Postage is not included in the listed prices. I will include a price for postage to your required location in my response to your enquiry. I send portraits mounted, wrapped in cellophane and cardboard, and marked as fragile. Postage is RM Signed For Delivery. Should your portrait arrive damaged please take a photo immediately and notify me. I will send instructions for returning the artwork and if it is beyond recovery I will complete a new piece without charge.

Terms and Conditions

1. All artwork is original, created by Karen Shearer and all copyright including media use and reproduction rights are retained by Karen Shearer.

2. The client must own or have permission to use the reference photo(s) they provide.

3. If the supplied reference photos are unsuitable the commission may be refused.

4. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date given.

5. A non-refundable deposit of £50 must be paid before bookings are confirmed and work on the portrait begins.

6. A photo of the completed artwork is sent to the client for before payment of the final balance is required.

7. The final balance must be paid in full within 30 days of completion. Artwork is posted only once the final balance is received.

8. Clients are not obligated to purchase the final artwork, in which case the artist retains the right to sell it.

9. Customs charges and other fees incurred from shipping are the responsibility of the client.

10. Data Protection: The artist will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties.
